What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship scheme is a combination of on the job practical training and study.

As an Apprentice you will:

  • Work alongside experienced staff
  • Gain job specific skills
  • Earn a wage while you learn
  • Work towards a related qualification

Who is it for?

Our Apprenticeship scheme is designed to train and support motivated people interested in pursuing a career within the construction industry. You will need to have an employer willing to support you through your Apprenticeship.

How long is an Apprenticeship?

Our Apprenticeship scheme is carried out over a two year period where candidates will attend CCT for a minimum of six weeks in block release of two weeks at a time, in the first year. The second year will consist of a number of on-site assessments.

What qualifications will you gain?

As well as on the job training, you have two options of Apprenticeships:-

Operative Skills for:

Plant Operator

  • Forward Tipping Dumper
  • Ride on Roller
  • 360 Excavator (tracked) Above and below 10T.
    Level 2 NVQ in Plant Operations (Construction)*
    Level 2 Diploma in Plant Operations

Construction Operations

  • Drainage
  • Concreting
  • CSCS Card

*An assessor will track apprentices on site for the Excavator NVQ, in order for candidates to gain the CPCS Blue Competent Operator card. Additional units can be paid for by the employer to attain the CPCS Competent Operator card in the other two categories (Forward Tipping Dumper & Ride on Roller).
