Telescopic Handler Course

Operate and maintain a Telescopic Handler safely

Suitable for all experience levels, from novice operators looking to expand their plant operating skills, through to experienced operators looking to refresh theirs.

By taking our Telescopic Handler course you will demonstrate competence in the safe handling and maintenance of the machine. Our course will instil the confidence in both the candidate and their employer to operate safely on site.

Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to operate and maintain a Telescopic Handler safely.

Entry Requirements:

Although you do not need any previous formal instruction to take this course, you must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before attending this course.

This course will teach the candidate how to:

  • Operate the machine for all normal tasks
  • Decide whether a particular load is safe to lift
  • Carry out routine servicing procedures and maintenance as necessary, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions
  • Know how the machine works and the maintenance requirements involved
  • Understand the effect of load, size, weight, gradients and ground conditions upon machine stability
  • Know how to load, store and transport representative materials
  • Understand the basic construction of pallets

Course Duration:

  • 5 Days – Novice Operator, Including Test
  • 2 Days – Semi-Experienced Operator, Plus Test
  • 1 Day – Experienced Operator (refresher training), Plus Test

Assessment and exams:

You will be assessed through both theory and practical tests.

Qualifications/certification:

When you have successfully completed the course you will be awarded a CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).
